One of the unique trends we have noticed is that some people will buy a broken laptop and then have a computer technician fix it up for them. It is a good idea to plan and research ahead of time you should be able to predict the amount it will cost for the initial purchase plus the cost for the repair which should include both parts and labor.

It is not very often that this scenario actually occurs, that is when someone actually wants a technician to repair a cheap broken laptop for them after they intentionally bought it for the purpose of having a technician fix them up but it does happen. From what we have seen this approach can save the customer several hundred dollars per laptop.

Quite a few people who aspire to be computer technicians will buy cheap broken laptops in order to practice their troubleshooting skills on them. There is no better way to learn a trade than by getting hands on experience.

There is nearly always a great selection of used Toshiba laptops which are broken and in need of repair. These generally start at really cheap prices and move on to the newer high end systems which often just need a motherboard or an LCD replaced. These will often hold a greater profit potential simply because their resale values can be quite high on the used laptop market.

We often refer to these as project laptops because they will not necessarily be used specifically as a source for parts.
